24th June - South China Cloud announced the signing of 20-year-old overseas prodigy Jia Boyan.

After mutual agreement, Jia Boyan has officially joined South China Cloud Football Club. He will wear the number 37 jersey and represent Nantong for the remaining matches of the 2024 season.

Jia Boyan was born on November 30th, 2003. Standing at 170cm tall and weighing 66kg, he plays as a forward on the field.

Jia Boyan received youth training at Shanghai Lucky Star and Shanghai Harbour. In August 2020, he made his professional debut for Shanghai Harbour in the Chinese Super League, becoming the youngest player ever to appear in the Chinese Super League for Shanghai Harbour at the age of 16 years and 275 days. That same year, Jia Boyan was also selected as one of the 60 most talented young players in the world by The Guardian.

In 2018, Jia Boyan was crowned the top scorer with 17 goals in the U15 National Championship. In 2021, he represented Shanghai in the 14th National Games U18 men's football competition, gaining valuable competition experience.

In February 2022, Jia Boyan transferred to Grasshopper Club Zurich in Switzerland and was subsequently loaned to Croatian club NK Dubrava to gain playing experience. In his first season in Europe, Jia Boyan made 17 league appearances, starting 7 times and scoring 1 goal. He also made 3 starting appearances and scored 2 goals in cup competitions. In the 2022/23 season, playing in the Croatian Central Division U19 League (second-tier level), Jia Boyan represented the team in 12 matches and scored 2 goals.

In September 2023, Jia Boyan returned to Grasshopper Club Zurich in Switzerland and made 9 appearances for the team in regional leagues.

Currently, Jia Boyan is training with the team and has played in warm-up matches to build chemistry with his teammates. South China Cloud welcomes the addition of talented overseas player Jia Boyan and looks forward to witnessing the start of his professional career in Nantong.
